Grey Noise, Dubai
Grey Noise is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of Mariam Suhail in Dubai, UAE.
Her work stems from the incidental, undocumented minutia of conversations, media, culture, and the everyday. She employs language from these sources to dissect and re-present what may exist in the spaces between exchanges, ideas, historical events and daily occurrences, resulting in works in sculpture, video, digital images, text and drawing.
For her presentation at Grey Noise, a set of works comes together as Accidental Excavations of objects and ideas. Comprising interventions into books, scanner malfunctions, discovery of old material and information about the birth of a new city, the show presents images, prints and texts that lie somewhere in the space between studies and proposals.
